Old City Light Festival to Brighten the Holiday Season! | November 03, 2008

The Holidays got a whole lot brighter as Old City shops, restaurants and retailers have banded together to create the first ever Old City Light Festival sponsored by Old City Collective, Philadelphia Weekly, Brandywine Construction & Management, Yaron Properties & the Old City District.Throughout the holiday season, Old City will be illuminated in glowing lights, adding a bit of romance and warmth to the cooling days of winter.

The festivities begin on First Friday, November 7, 2008 at 7:00pm, with a free party at Old City Ironworks (141 N 3rd Street).  There will be plenty of food & drinks provided by National Mechanics, Paddy’s Pub and Konak Restaurant to energize party-goers.  A live jazz band will be providing smooth sounds for the evening and there will be a drawing to win an Old City Collective Gift Basket worth $1000.

There will also be “hot spots” around the area where revelers can sip some hot apple cider or scoop up some seasonal pumpkin ice cream from Franklin Fountain. Another reason to attend the Old City Light Festival is to see Philadelphia’s own Ben Franklin, on hand to help electrify the kick-off party.

For more information and to see a list of participating shops, restaurants and retailers, visit oldcitydistrict.org.
